Polène is opening its first Singapore boutique at Marina Bay Sands. Conceived as a space where the Maison’s craftsmanship meets the singularity of this port city, the 84-square-meter boutique draws inspiration from the fishing huts once found along the island’s coastline. Reinterpreted through Polène’s architectural language, it evokes the shelter, agility, and play of light that characterized these traditional structures.

A composition of ceiling-suspended full-grain leather panels creates an airy canopy that spans the boutique. Some of these hand-woven panels toy with transparency, while others replicate the emblematic lines of the Solé bag. Light-colored mineral flooring contrasts with dark walnut furniture featuring stark, sculptural lines. In the center of the boutique, a modular table appears to float in mid-air, illustrating the quest for balance between materiality and lightness that defines Polène’s designs.

The boutique also hosts “Craft at Work – A Puzzle of Leather”, an installation dedicated to leather-working techniques. A machine specially developed for this space demonstrates the process of using a cutting die to cut the 36 different pieces of leather that comprise the Mokki bag. This experience invites visitors to learn about the artisanal precision and intricate crafting that goes into every Polène piece.
